Overview

El Cerdo TTDI, nestled in the vibrant enclave of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, offers a distinctive dive into Spanish gastronomy with a particular emphasis on pork-centric dishes. The restaurant’s signature, the Cochinillo Al Estilo Segoviano—slow-roasted suckling pig—serves not only as a culinary centerpiece but also as an interactive experience where guests participate in a traditional plate-breaking ritual. This cultural touch adds an engaging layer to dining, making it as much about spectacle as flavor.

The space itself balances a casual yet refined atmosphere, suitable for business gatherings and social nights alike, appealing particularly to those who appreciate authentic Iberian cuisine with a local Malaysian twist. The setting is complemented by attentive, if somewhat straightforward, service that maintains efficiency without overstepping into memorable hospitality.

On the menu, the focus remains squarely on hearty, rustic Spanish fare. The organic duck paella and seafood paella are notable highlights, offering rich layers of textures and flavors that capture the essence of traditional Spanish rice dishes with fresh, garden-to-table ingredients. For those inclined towards charcuterie, the Spanish ham and sausage platters stand out, showcasing cured meats that carry the depth and quality expected from an authentic Spanish restaurant. The inclusion of specialties such as the bread with pork patty broadens the selection, delivering a comforting, savory bite that pairs well with their curated beverage list.

While many diners praise the food for its quality and bold flavors, some reviews suggest inconsistency, especially with pasta dishes and certain starters. The bread and pork, as well as the seafood pasta, tend to garner more consistent approval, while some vegetable-based dishes and soups have drawn mixed reactions. The dessert lineup offers a sweet finale—churros con chocolate and homemade ice cream provide classic Spanish finishes that lighten the palate and round out the meal.

Pricing positions El Cerdo TTDI at the higher end of casual dining, with larger portion sizes that invite sharing but require mindful ordering to avoid waste. Private dining options exist, catering to business occasions or larger groups, although some customers have noted the minimum spend policies could be communicated with greater transparency.

In summary, El Cerdo TTDI is a compelling choice for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of Spain in Kuala Lumpur. It excels in delivering an immersive experience centered on traditional pork dishes and festive paellas, within a well-located and comfortably styled space. While the service remains competent, the true allure lies in the food and the cultural charm embedded in its presentation—a worthy stop for those looking to indulge in Spanish flavors with a Malaysian backdrop.

Always good quality food here. Service staff is attentive. Ordered the red wine chorizo with garlic but a little on the salty side this time otherwise it is perfect. Wanted to do all pork dishes and went with the pork belly fettuccine but wasn’t the best so that can be skipped.

Good Spanish food esp suckling pig & paella. Lovely place with easy parking at basement RM3 per hour. With bill over RM1000, they gave RM100 voucher for next visit. A little pricy but food is good n service excellent

Food was overall okay, on the pricey side. One of those places you'd only go to on a business expense. Booking didn't mention minimum spend of 1.5k for private room, but only was only conveyed to me upon checking with them about my reservation. Decided to be safe and went without the room, but ended up spending above anyway. Wish they had offered to move us to a private room, knowing we would've spent above the amount. The novelty of breaking plates after cutting up the suckling pig was quite amusing, but the taste of the suckling pig was nothing much to shout about.

The food at this restaurant is quite good overall, though I personally found the pasta to be more enjoyable than the meats. The sausages and the signature pork dish were alright, but the pasta really stood out to me in terms of flavor. One thing that was quite fun and unique was the way they serve the pork—using plates to cut it. It was an interactive experience and probably part of their cultural style, which added a nice touch to the meal. We also ordered beers to go along with the meal, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. However, this restaurant leans toward the higher end when it comes to pricing. We booked a private room for our group, and the minimum spend for that was about RM2700. While the food was great, we definitely over-ordered and couldn’t finish everything. The portions were quite large, so we ended up packing the leftover pork to take away. When it comes to service, I’d say it was just average. The staff were polite and efficient, but there wasn’t anything particularly special or memorable about it. It felt a bit standard, without the extra touch that you might expect from a restaurant in this price range. While the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, the service didn’t really enhance the experience in any way.

Service and environment was nice but food is not that great. Mushroom soup is horrible. Salmon was just ok. The only thing that is nice is the pork knuckle and seafood pasta. Panna cotta was great!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ordered: Set for 6 pax (x2) 14 pax (Just Nice) Food was Outstanding. The flavours are all on point, cured ham is out of the world. Best was Pork Ribs, super super juicy and soft and packed with flavours. Seafood Paella, al-dante texture, seafood super fresh. They nailed it so well. Dessert (raspberry sorbet w Vanilla Gelato w Chocolate Layer at the bottom) was very good quality ice creams (not icy type). Attentive and friendly staffs.

First time here and was totally impressed by the food - especially the chargrilled Squid tapas, the Crispy Pork Knuckle (though this took forever to come). The Fried Sausage was super yummy too. And also the refreshing Watermelon Salad. Overall, enjoyed the meal so much that I will be back with a larger party for a birthday celebration! (Although the WhatsApp reservation was a bit painful. I wanted to pre-order the Pork Knuckle and Suckling Pig for the birthday celebratio but they didn't respond to that. And then after some push, they said no pre-order. I'm trying to make them understand that i do not wish for the party to wait for the food to come. But I gave up. So just reservations confirmed )
